Digital Works, 1993 - 2003

I am interested in the workings of the hierarchical structures we invent to organize our lives, and how psychological space is colored and measured by the stew of cultural norms and mythologies that service the mediation between imagination and the masculine ideal on one hand and reality on the other. This space gives shape to this work through the use of figurative gesture that attends to psychological states over the appearance of things.
These pieces began as studio, photographic self-portraits processed in digital software and printed as large format prints on rag paper, or a wide range of media, with pigmented inks. Additional output information is available under the “Contact” link.
